Explore, play, laugh, and spend the day.

The Russ has it all.

Russ Nature Reserve is an amazing part of your backyard here in Greene County. Gifted by Fritz and Dolores Russ in 2008, the Russ features an all-natural playscape built among the woods, close to four miles of trails that wind through meadows and woods, and an apiary for beekeeping.

Take the opportunity to take some time after work to walk the trails with a loved one or on your own for much needed solitude. Young mothers – come together to socialize and let your children play in the Lovely Nature Playscape – a wooded playground constructed from cut branches and natural climbing structures. For tree and nature enthusiasts, come walk along the tree trail to learn about indigenous trees to the area.

Whatever you decide to do, you’ll be creating memories for a lifetime with family and friends.

With special thanks to the Greene County Beekeepers Association, you can watch and learn how to care for and harvest honey from their apiary.
